Your monthly installment amount
Hydro-Québec calculates your monthly installment based on:- the electricity consumption at your current service address over the previous 12 months, and;
- multiyear temperature records for your area.
Tracking your consumption
Your EPP balance and a history of your previous consumption, in kilowatthours and in dollars, appear on each bill.Annual review
Hydro-Québec conducts an annual review in August or September to determine whether your payments and actual consumption over the last year result in an outstanding balance or credit and to calculate your monthly payments for the coming year. Following the review, a bill will be issued to bring your balance to zero.- If you consumed more than anticipated, the amount due will be greater than your usual installment. It will be shown on your bill and payable on the due date. If you wish, you can call us and arrange to have the amount in excess of your regular installment spread over your next six bills.
- If you consumed less than anticipated, the amount due will be lower than your usual installment. A credit for the difference will be applied to your next bill.
Terms and conditions
Shortly after you sign up for the program, you will receive a letter in the mail confirming that the EPP is in effect. In the meantime, please continue to pay the amounts shown on the bills you receive.Termination of the EPP
