Competition at a glance
The ENERGY WISE Competition of Excellence was designed to honor the Hydro-Québec business customers and partners who distinguish themselves through their exceptional accomplishments in the energy efficiency field.
The competition has two phases: the ENERGY WISE Citations of Excellence and the ENERGY WISE Awards of Excellence.
ENERGY WISE Citations of Excellence for business customers
The Citations of Excellence recognize the exemplary performances of the business partners involved in the Empower, Efficient Products and Traffic Light Optimization programs.
No official entry is necessary. All projects carried out as part of a Hydro-Québec energy efficiency program and for which financial assistance from Hydro-Québec was received between January 1 and December 31, 2008, will be evaluated. Business clients with at least one project that meets the eligibility criteria of a particular program and the five businesses with the highest number of Empower program projects qualify for a Citation of Excellence.
These businesses and the consultants who collaborated on the projects will be awarded an ENERGY WISE Citation of Excellence at a special ceremony.
ENERGY WISE Awards of Excellence for business customers and partners
The ENERGY WISE Awards of Excellence will be given out at a prestigious gala and crown the efforts of the business customers and partners who, the ENERGY WISE Awards of Excellence honor the efforts of business customers and partners who, beyond achieving enviable savings with their energy efficiency project, demonstrated their innovative spirit. Business partners must also show how they promote energy efficiency to their own customers.
Business customers who receive a Citation of Excellence will be invited to submit an application for an ENERGY WISE Award of Excellence.

Business partners who implement successful projects under an energy efficiency program and who meet the eligibility criteria of their category will also be invited to submit an application for an ENERGY WISE Award of Excellence.

- Master Electrician
A grand prize will be awarded to a business chosen from among the winners in each category, and a special prize will be given to an individual or organization that has made a significant impact in the energy efficiency field.
Jury
A jury made up of business people, energy experts and a Hydro-Québec representative will determine the winners.
