Who’s eligible?

Any individual, company, government agency or nongovernmental organization that has a place of business in Québec is eligible to respond to a request for proposals (RFP). Large-power customers are ineligible, but we offer other programs designed specially for them.

Eligible projects

Eligible projects are demonstration or experimentation initiatives involving electrical energy efficiency technologies whose cost-effectiveness or viability has not yet been proven in Québec. The project must be designed to demonstrate or test the benefits of a new technology or new application of an existing technology with the potential for significant or reproducible energy savings. The technology may be for business, industrial, institutional, residential or other use.

Proposals for demonstration projects be submitted by Hydro-Québec customers and be carried out on their own premises. Projects approved for IDEAS cannot be submitted for another Energy Efficiency Plan program by the same customer.

Ineligible projects

Electricity self-generation or generation projects are not eligible.
