The 100-MW Vents du Kempt wind farm is among the projects selected in Hydro-Québec's second call for tenders for the purchase of 2,000 MW of wind power.

To bring the wind farm's output onto its transmission grid, Hydro-Québec must build a 120-kV single-circuit line from the wind farm developer's substation to the Hydro-Québec system, near the Causapscal substation.

Hydro-Québec is carrying out draft-design studies for the new line. Work is expected to start in winter 2014, with commissioning slated for fall 2014.
