Financial Assistance

If you decide on a geothermal system, you can get a grant from Hydro-Québec. For exisiting detached houses, additional financial assistance is available through the Rénoclimat program offered by Québec's Agence de l'efficacité énergétique.

New home construction

  1. 1. The geothermal system must have been installed on or after May 1, 2007, and must be certified by the Canadian GeoExchange Coalition (CGC).
  2. 2. If you are a Rate DT customer, the geothermal system must have been installed on or after November 3, 2009.
  3. 3. Some conditions apply. Rénoclimat is a program offered by Québec’s Agence de l’efficacité énergétique. Fees apply for home energy audits under the Rénoclimat program. Suggested price: $149.95, plus taxes, for a medium-sized single-family dwelling subject to change without notice. For details, visit aee.gouv.qc.ca.
