The Time It Right program, launched
December 1, 2008, is a pilot project to test new rates that vary with the season and time of day. The two-year program was
developed at the request of the Régie de l’énergie [energy board]. Many customers in these four typical Québec cities have
volunteered to take part:
- Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu
- Trois-Rivières
- Val-d’Or
- Sept-Îles
Why test a new rate?
Because it’s one more way to help customers manage their electricity bills. The pilot project will tell us whether the variable rates will be enough of an incentive to customers to spread out their electricity use more evenly.
Are there any other advantages?
Anything that smooths out the peaks
and dips in power demand will lower electricity supply costs, which is a plus for everyone.
