Première-Chute Generating Station

Not to be missed!

One of five hydroelectric stations on the Rivière des Outaouais (Ottawa River), Première-Chute is the only one open to visitors in Abitibi-Témiscamingue.

Discover the unique design of this generating station which served as a model for the hydroelectric complexes in the Baie-James region. You'll also learn about supplying electricity to rural Québec and about converting the distribution system frequency from 25 to 60 hertz.

Well worth a visit!
