    The net metering option is for customers connected to the Hydro‑Québec grid who want to operate power generation equipment of any sort (generator, wind turbine, etc.) to produce electricity for their own use from eligible renewable sources. This attractive, environmentally-friendly solution can help self-generators optimize their energy use as part of a global vision of energy efficiency.

    Hydro‑Québec allows generation equipment to be connected to the power system and surplus power to be injected onto its grid in exchange for kilowatt hour credits that are applied to your bill. With this plan, you have access to the Hydro‑Québec grid at all times for those occasions when self-generation does not meet your consumption needs.

    Periodically, you will receive your bill along with a consumption statement in kWh detailing how much electricity was supplied by Hydro‑Québec and how much you injected onto the grid.
