Following the 2019 adoption of An Act to simplify the process for establishing electricity distribution rates, Hydro‑Québec is required to send information related to its electricity distribution activities, as well as comments received from the public, to the Régie de l’énergie on an annual basis. The 2021 information is contained in eight documents and can be viewed online using the following links.

Some 2021 highlights

Our residential rates still among the lowest

Québec’s electricity rates remain among the lowest in North America even with 2021’s rate increase of 1.3%, based on inflation and in accordance with An Act to simplify the process for establishing electricity distribution rates.

Energy efficiency remains at the heart of our priorities

In February 2021, Hydro‑Québec integrated a new measure in its portfolio of energy efficiency offers: the Efficient Heat Pump Program. Residential customers can now receive financial assistance for the installation of an eligible heat pump.

As at December 31, 2021, more than 30,000 heat pumps had been installed, generating 102 GWh in energy savings.
