The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is the world reference in sustainability reporting. It suggests an approach for all organizations that want to report on their performance in the area of sustainability. The approach has three objectives: comparability of data, transparency of information and accountability to stakeholders. In addition, the GRI produces sector supplements for certain specific business areas. In 2013, it published a supplement for electric utilities.

Since 2001, Hydro-Québec has been benchmarking its performance in the area of sustainability based on the GRI approach.

Our Sustainability Report 2018 has been prepared in accordance with the GRI Standards: Core option. The Electric Utilities Sector Supplement has also been used.
