Authorizing a third party to manage your account
There are many reasons to authorize a third party to manage your account. You may be planning ahead in case you lose some of your independence or you may be short on time and want to allow someone you trust access to your account.
As the person responsible for an electricity service contract, you can go to your Customer Space to designate a third party—a child, parent, spouse, friend or company—to access your account details (consent) or to act on your behalf in dealings with Hydro-Québec (proxy).
Designate an authorized representative in just a few simple steps
Go to your Customer Space, select a type of authorization (proxy or consent) and specify the powers you are granting the individual or company (obtain information, manage your account, update the details in your customer file, notify Hydro-Québec of a move, etc.) and the expiry date of the authorization.
You will then receive a confirmation of authorization. The individual or company you designated will also receive one.

If you are a representative duly authorized by proxy
Go to your Customer Space for the details of your authorization.
If an account for which you are a proxy holder is not listed in your Customer Space, follow these steps to add an account.
If you are a designated representative authorized by consent, you may only obtain information on the account. You will not be able to access it through your Customer Space.
