A trio of agreements signed with New Brunswick
Three agreements related to the purchase of 47 TWh of electricity by New Brunswick, the sharing of expertise and the launch of talks regarding the construction of new interconnections between the two provinces.

Electricity purchases
Hydro-Québec will export a total of 47 TWh of electricity to New Brunswick between now and 2040, for an average of more than 2 TWh per year. These exports will be in addition to the energy we are already supplying to the New Brunswick grid since 2012.
Sharing of expertise
We will collaborate with NB Power on the refurbishment of Mactaquac generating station in order to extend its useful life until 2068. The concrete making up this facility’s spillway is swelling and cracking, and the expertise we have gained in this area over the years will help fix the problem.
Talks on the construction of additional interconnections
Discussions have been launched regarding the construction of additional interconnections between Québec and New Brunswick, in order to increase electricity exports to Atlantic Canada and the United States.
