Rebuilding of the 69‑kV transmission line between Cap‑aux‑Meules and Grosse‑Île
Cooperation with the community

When developing new projects, Hydro‑Québec strives to balance the three pillars of sustainable development: environmental, economic and social sustainability. For this reason, a participatory and consultative process is implemented to establish and maintain a dialogue with the community throughout the studies.
Public participation
As a first step, Hydro‑Québec met with some community stakeholders in 2021 to share information about the project and hear initial concerns.
In spring 2022, Hydro‑Québec began meeting with members of the public. Our objective is to adapt the project to local realities to the greatest extent possible and develop a project that is acceptable to the community. These exchanges are needed to better understand and take into account the expectations expressed by residents and community representatives. At each stage, the information gathered will serve to improve project design and implementation.
