Electrical system upgrade in Estrie

A reliable system and a sustainable future

Working in cooperation with the community

In order to design solutions that integrate the future structures into the environment as seamlessly as possible, Hydro-Québec wishes to plan the conversion of the power system in Estrie in collaboration with the population and the various organizations involved in the region’s land use planning and development.

Staying in touch with the community

The Hydro-Québec team is committed to maintaining ongoing communication with the population at all stages of the plan to modernize the system. Discussions with the population help us to increase our knowledge of the community and the territory and better identify the population’s needs and concerns so that we can design the most appropriate solutions together.

Harmonious integration

Community input helps our team design solutions conducive to the harmonious integration of new facilities. A collaborative approach such as this aims in particular to preserve quality of life and the environment while meeting land use planning and development goals established by the regional county municipalities (MRC) involved.

Public participation activities

Hydro-Québec implements a public participation program for each of its major projects. The population of Estrie is invited to take part in various public participation activities, at which discussions with our teams will be held to help us design the best possible projects.

For information on current and upcoming public consultation activities, please consult the project webpages.
