Refurbishment of the Trenche facility
Work
Our priority is to carry out the work in compliance with health and safety standards while minimizing any disruption to the facility’s continuous operation.
Trenche hydropower generating station, seen from downstream
Main parking lot, jobsite (A,B,C)
Land clearing required to develop the main parking lot and work areas will be carried out in winter 2025.
Construction trailers, turnaround area and the operator’s buildings, the modular building for workers (D,E,F)
The jobsite buildings will be installed as of summer 2025.
Replacement of generating units, work on the hydraulic passage and auxiliary services (H,G)
The generating units will be replaced at a rate of one per year beginning in fall 2027. During the same period, we will also work on the upstream and downstream decks.

- Preparatory work and temporary construction site facilities 2025‑2027
- Work on the generating units, the hydraulic passage and auxiliary services 2027‑2033
- Work in the buildings 2033‑2034

Sporadic closure of road link
During necessary inspections, other maintenance operations and certain work, we sometimes have to close the road link. Before travelling in the area, we encourage you to consult the City of La Tuque’s Info‑travaux website for information about local traffic disruptions and to follow all signage.
