Understanding Rate Flex D

Rate Flex D is a dynamic rate that can save you quite a bit of money. In winter, more than 95% of the time, the price of electricity is below the base rate. The exception is peak demand events, during which the price is higher.

To maximize your savings, the trick is to reduce your consumption during peak demand events, i.e., when the price of electricity is higher.

Understanding electricity rates

Rates generally consist of three components that reflect the costs actually incurred in providing electricity service over a given period: namely, the system access charge; energy; and power demand. Here are some details about these concepts to help you better understand your rate.

Other pricing components that can affect your bill

Two more factors will affect the amount you are billed: the consumption period, and the credit for supply.
