Winter Credit Option
Eligibility
The Winter Credit Option is for Rate D (base rate) customers who are able to use less electricity during peak demand events or shift their nonessential electricity consumption to outside of those periods. To be eligible for this rate option, you must have the following:
- A Rate D service contract
- An electrical installation supplied by the main grid rather than by an off-grid system
- A communicating meter
- A Customer Space with a valid email address (for peak demand event notifications)
- A service contract with a consumption history that includes at least one monthly period
In addition, you must not be signed up for any other rate options.

What will you need?
Contract holder: Your most recent bill.
Proxy holder or account manager: A recent bill of the account you manage.
Winter Credit Option conditions
To sign up for the Winter Credit Option, you must submit a request through your Customer Space or contact Hydro‑Québec’s customer services.
Rates effective April 1, 2023. This table does not replace the Electricity Rates document in any way whatsoever.
