Efficient Solutions Program – Changes to the program and OSE 5.1 tool.

Changes to the Efficient Solutions Program came into effect on March 31, 2025. A few are presented below.

Energy Analysis Component

  • An additional 20 % in financial assistance when demand response (DR) measures are included in the energy analysis (to a maximum of $60,000)
  • Eligibility threshold: The annual reference consumption is now at least one gigawatthour
  • Changes to the conditions and undertakings, the Participant's Guide and the tools

OSE 5.1

  • There is new financial assistance for ENERGY STAR® certified split system aerothermal heat pumps, including those designed for cold climates
  • The new OSE tool integrates ENERGY STAR® API
  • A new measure has been added for aerothermal heat pumps with integrated air-conditioning and there is a new drop-down menu for the hours of operation on a weekly basis
  • A new measure for geothermal heat pumps with air ducts and additional financial assistance has been added
  • Several heat recovery measures have been split up and renamed to better indicate the type of heat recovery, and additional financial assistance is available for certain options
  • Additional financial assistance for solar power has been added and the type of sensor is indicated
  • The exact number of light fixtures controlled must be indicated for the light fixture regulation measure. This measure has been removed from the Farming component
